Persuasive Writing

This week we have been writing and editing our own persuasive texts, on whether or not we believe school uniform is a good idea.

Your task this week is to write another very important persuasive text!

As part of World Book Day 2015, David Walliams will be visiting schools all over the UK. Your task is to write a short paragraph to persuade David Walliams to come to our school. Remember, you must use your personal opinions, a few facts and lots of emotive language. Write your persuasive texts in the comment box below and we will use the best ones when we enter the competition.

You can read more information about the competition on this website; http://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/2015/01/david-walliams-takes-sky-celebrate-world-book-day-2/#

  1. Dear David Walliams,

I hope you come to our school. Our school is one of the top schools in Hounslow. Our school has a big field for your helicopter to land. No sooner you step out of the helicopter, you will be surprised to see a red double decker bus, which is actually our school library.

Everyone at school is a fan of yours. Did you know our school has the best behaviour? We are super-duper interested in reading, especially your books. I have read 'The Billionaire Boy' and found it very interesting. I am looking forward to read the rest of your books. Your visit will encourage us to continue reading more.

    This is our address:
    Chatsworth Primary School,
    Heath Road,
    Hounslow,
    Middlesex, TW3 2NU.

    Looking forward to meet you.

    Kind Regards,
    Omar Hashmi

  2. My name is Daniel Horgan and I go to Chatsworth Primary school. I am in Year 3 and I have always loved reading. Every night before bedtime I read and then sneak the book under my pillow so I can finish it in the morning when I wake up.

I would like to tell you about our school library. It is very unique and different from other libraries, it is a London Bus , from 2012. It is parked in our playground. On the lower floor of the bus we keep the Fiction books and the top deck we keep the Non Fiction.
Once a week we are allowed to go to the bus and pick a book to take home. Our librarians are children from the classes, and they are responsible for sorting the books and keeping them in the right order.
I have read all of your books, my favourite book is Gangster Granny. I like the characters you have in this book and most importantly it makes me laugh.
    Kind regards
    Daniel Horgan
