Science Experiments

In our second week back after half term, we will be having a Science Week!

Your task for half-term and the week after is to complete your own Science project at home. It can be anything that you are interested in and should be something that you have made and can bring in to present to the rest of the class. You also need to make a large poster (or other form of presentation) to explain:

·     What is your project?
·     Why did you choose it?
·     How does it work?
·     Why is it a good Science project?

We will be presenting our projects on Friday 12th June!

School Trip

Well done, everyone! You were so sensible and well behaved on our trip yesterday. I was incredibly proud of all of you.

I would also like to say another massive thank you to the parents that helped us throughout the day. You were so incredibly helpful, kind and patient.

Homework
Your homework task is to write about your favourite part of the day and tell me why you liked that part the most. Try to give more than one reason!

I would also like you to think of any questions you might have about the workshop we took part in and we will try to explore some of the ideas further in our Science lessons next term.

Natural History Museum

On Monday, we will be going to the Natural History Museum to find out more about some of the Topics we have been covering in Science this year.

Some important things to remember;

  • You do not need to wear your PE kit on Monday. You should be wearing your normal school uniform.
  • Bring a waterproof jacket. We will be walking to and from the tube station and it may rain!
  • Bring a healthy packed lunch and only water to drink.
  • We will be setting off shortly after the beginning of the school day so please try to arrive on time.
This week, your blogging homework will be about our trip so it will be set on Monday. Mathletics has been updated so you will all be able to practise your multiplication and division instead.

Have a lovely weekend :)

Note to parents
Thank you for all your kindness in offering to help with our trip. We have been overwhelmed by the number of parents that have offered us their time and assistance. Unfortunately we were not able to bring everyone along with us, so we pulled names out of a hat to decide who would be coming along. The parents that have been selected have received a letter. Those who have not been selected this time will be given priority on our next trip.
Thank you!

Biographies, Autobiographies and Times Tables

Literacy
Recently, we have been learning about biographies and autobiographies. All the homework for this subject has been given to you on worksheets. Please make sure you bring the autobiography worksheet into school on Monday and the biography worksheet on Friday. You will not be able to complete your work in class without these sheets.

Maths
By the end of year 3, you should all know your 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10 and 11 times tables. Some of you are still struggling with these times tables so you need to start practising them every day. This will help you with the maths work we will be doing in class over the next few weeks. If you are really confident with these times tables, you should be working on the 6, 7 and 9 times tables.

School Trip
We will be visiting the Natural History Museum on Monday 18th May. Some children have still not returned their permission slip for this trip. You must bring it on Monday. If your permission slip is not returned you may not be able to come on the trip.
