Hello everyone,

Please remember that next week we will be back to normal and you will return to your Year 3 classroom. Don't forget to wear your PE kit on Monday!

We will be doing lots of Design and Technology next week, creating Moving Monsters. If you have any cardboard boxes at home (any size) please bring them in!

See you on Monday!

Transition Week

Next week is Transition Week so you will be going up to Year 4 to have a taster of what next year will be like. Your new class is Olympic Park and your new teacher will be Miss Cope.

You do not need to wear your PE kit on Monday as there will be no PE sessions next week. There are also no swimming lessons until September so you do not need to bring your swimming kit on Tuesday.

I hope you have a wonderful week! See you on the 13th!

Year 3

We are almost at the end of Year 3!

This will be the last piece of homework you do as Year 3's, so we are going to reflect on the journey you have been on this year.

Your task is to write a short paragraph reviewing your year. You might want to think about;

  • what you have enjoyed most
  • what you have enjoyed least
  • what you have learnt
  • your achievements and successes
  • what you want to achieve in Year 4.
Don't forget to bring your recorders and music books for the concert on Monday!

NOTE TO PARENTS: Our music teacher, Miss Cahill, has organised a Year 3 music concert on Monday morning (29th June) at 9 o'clock. All parents are welcome to attend.

Roman Week

We have been celebrating all things Roman this week! We have been studying Roman Numerals, Hadrian's Wall and Roman towns in Britain. We were also visited by two Romans on Monday. They told us all about being in the Roman Army and the daily life of a Roman civilian.

For your task this week you must imagine that you are a Roman soldier. You must write a letter to your friend convincing them to join the Roman army. Some things you might want to mention are;

  • How long they will be in the army
  • The different countries they will travel to
  • The amount of money they will get paid every year
  • The pension (the things they will be given when they retire)

An example of how to start your letter is below;

Dear _____,

I hope you are well. I'm missing you terribly.

I am currently travelling in Britannia as a soldier in the Roman Army and I'm having such a wonderful time. You should join me!

Roman Workshop and Roman Day

Tomorrow (Monday 15th June) we will be taking part in a Roman workshop that will last all day. You should come to school in your normal school uniform. There is no need to wear your PE kit.

On Tuesday (16th June), it is Roman Day across the school and you will be allowed to wear a Roman costume. It is compulsory to wear your school uniform when you go swimming, so you must bring this to school with you. We suggest wearing your school PE shorts and t-shirt under your Roman Costume. You can then put your school jumper over the top when we go swimming.

Please ask your teacher if you have any questions about this.

You can find your homework task in the post below.

  • Wednesday - dark boxes
  • Thursday - sundials
  • Friday - showing our projects and performing our shadow puppet productions
